Ten-Day STEAM and Cultural Exchange to UK

Emerging as one of the outstanding teams in the local “do your :bit challenge”, our junior STEM team members, Enoch CHOW, Angus WONG, and Tong YU of 3W, set off on 19 Jan with their latest STEAM creation, “Bin-telligent”, and introduced an innovative recycling approach to educators and changemakers across the globe during their 10-day STEAM and cultural trip to the UK.

Fusing micro:bit with some technical know-how and a warm heart to make the world a better place, Bin-telligent redefines the way how recyclable items are sorted for further processing, making the act of recycling smarter and more efficient. This creation is in response to the United Nations’ Global Goals, a call for action on sustainable development across the world. Our presentation of Bin-telligent at Bett UK, one of the world’s biggest education technology events where over 30,000 educators and changemakers met for some of the most cutting-edge EdTech content, did catch the eye of quite a number of visitors.

In addition to the inspiring and immersive experience in technology, students also went on cultural and intellectual excursions to some of the best attractions like the British Museum, Westminster Cathedral, and University of Oxford, etc.
